Behaviour & Ethics

All KSS coaches are required to be members of the “Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (CSCTA)”. The CSCTA has a written “Code of Ethics and Conduct” for all their members. Since 1999 the KSS has adopted this code of ethics and conduct, with amendments made to reflect the position of our club, and holds our coaches to these standards. The Code of Ethics and Conduct can be found at the CSCTA web-site at http://csca.org/ (go to “members” then “CSCTA Code of Ethics”). KSS amendments to the CSCTA Code can be found in Addendum B of the Kenora Swimming Sharks Constitution which will soon be available on this website.

Additionally KSS athletes and parents / guardians of KSS athletes are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times. Anyone exhibiting unacceptable behavior (swearing, threats, destruction of property) will be cautioned to stop the behavior immediately by the club President or Vice-president. If the behavior continues the athlete, parent, or guardian may be expelled from the club by a majority vote of the club executive.
