*C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S Ian Filips of Kenora!

Ian Filips of Kenora was declared the winner of the Kenora Swimming Sharks $20,000 Cash and Coin draw held January 27 at 5:00pm at the Kenora Recreation Centre.  Congratulations Ian!

The Kenora Swimming Sharks would like to send out a BIG thank you to Sunset Husky and Blue Heron for being our official ticket selling establishments. Without these two businesses, our draw would not be possible. The two raffles the Kenora Swimming Sharks hold each year are critical to the financial stability of the club and the support of the community is very much appreciated.

Thanks also need to go to:

  • Canadian Tire, Home Hardware and the Kenora Shoppers Mall for allowing the club to set up tables to help families sell their tickets.
  • Any business in the city who allowed families to leave tickets behind to sell to their customers
  • All the Members of the Kenora Swimming Sharks who sold their ticket commitment and beyond
  • Anyone who bought a ticket!  Every ticket helps!

And last but certainly not least, Colleen Jones and family who not only keep the draw running smoothly and take on a lot of responsibility every draw but who also are some of our biggest ticket sellers.  And, thanks to Mr. Jones, the Swimming Sharks now have their very own ticket drum for this and future draws.  Way to go Norm!

Husky Community Rebate Program

Sunset Husky in Kenora has been a strong supporter of the Kenora Swimming Sharks for several
seasons. Their assistance with our draws, especially our Boat Draw has been phenomenal ~ 35% of the tickets sold for our last draw were sold at Sunset Husky!

Kenora Swimming Sharks families and friends can give a little something back in appreciation AND support the club. Each time someone presents a Husky Community Rebate Card issued by the Kenora Swimming Sharks when they make a purchase at any Husky, Mohawk or Husky House Restaurant in Canada, Husky gets our business and the Kenora Swimming Sharks get a rebate of 2% to help run the club.  All purchases are eligible except lottery tickets, cigarettes and gas certificates.

Husky Community Rebate Cards are available at the Sharks office and we will be making them
available to all our families at our upcoming Annual General Meeting on September 28, 2008.

For more information about the Husky Community Rebate Program, download their Rebate Plan Brochure.

KSS Boat Draw ~ Winner !!

Joan Belanger of Kenora was the winner of our Annual Boat Draw. Congratulations Joan!

The Kenora Swimming Sharks would like to extend a HUGE Thank You to Sunset Husky for all of their support during this draw, selling tickets and displaying our boat. All summer long, residents and visitors to Kenora could have a look at our fabulous prize parked in the Sunset Husky parking lot. This generates lots of interest in the boat every year and definitely helps our cause. The Boat Draw was a SELL OUT once again and we owe a big thanks to all the folks who purchased a ticket in support of our club. We would also like to thank Patti’s Restaurant, Blue Heron, McDiarmid Lumber, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, the Kenora Shopper’s Mall and any other business in Kenora that kept a book or two of tickets on the counter to help us out. And to all of the Sharks members who took the time to sell the tickets and man the ticket tables this summer, your contribution of time and energy is greatly appreciated!! It takes a strong membership to build and maintain a strong club and the Kenora Swimming Sharks is very fortunate to have some very dedicated families!

And THANK YOU!!!! to Colleen Jones and Family for the countless hours of volunteer time devoted to this draw all summer long! We couldn’t have done it without you!
