The Kenora Swimming Sharks 2nd Annual Black and Red meet was a great success!  It was great to see lots of swimmers and family members in the water together including a few “future” Sharks.  The Sharks were pleased to welcome Special Olympics swimmers to our teams as well.  The competition was stiff but with the help of their team spirit award, the Red team just barely edged out the Black team to win the Sharks trophy.

The City of Kenora once again showed its generosity during a very successful tag day yesterday afternoon. Thank you to the numerous Kenora businesses who allowed our swimmers at their front doors. These funds will assist our competitive swimmers to attend several more meets through the summer months. Thanks also to all the Jr. Sharks who came out to help.

The day ended with a BBQ at Anicinabe Park.  Many thanks to all the folks who brought food and to our Club President Cheryl O’Flaherty for doing lots of the planning and running around.  Overall there are too many people to thank personally for their efforts which is a good sign:  lots of willing family volunteers help to keep our club strong!

All in all, it was a great day for the Sharks!
