Navigating Swim Canada Online Meet Info and Results

We all know the Swim Canada Website can be a bit of a challenge to figure out, especially if you are a parent with a swimmer who is just starting to compete. Here is a bit of information and a few guidelines regarding how to get the most out of the Swim Canada Meet List.

First, here’s the link to the Meet List & Results. I suggest you bookmark this page. You can also get to this page by going to the Swim Canada website and clicking on Events (second tab from the right along the top of the Home Page) and choosing, under General, the second option – Meet List and Results.

The Meet List Page is organized with four tabs along the top of the page. Meet Results, Upcoming Meets, View All and My Meets. Each of these tabs will pull up the corresponding information. Your choices for viewing within each tab are the same: you can organize by month by using the Month tabs and you can narrow your search by choosing specific provinces, etc. by using the drop down menus and clicking SHOW.

The first page/tab showing will always be Meet Results. This is where you will find all posted results for past meets. The EVENT FILE and RESULT FILE are only used by coaches and meet managers. Once the results of any given meet are posted by Swim Canada, it is the MEET REPORT that parents will want to download. REMEMBER: results can sometimes take up to a week or longer to be posted on Swim Canada.

The second page/tab is Upcoming Meets. This is a very useful place for parents to visit prior to your swimmer attending a meet. The MEET PACKAGE will have lots of information regarding where the meet is located, meet schedules including preliminaries and finals and awards. We encourage all parents to have a look at the Meet Package for any meet your swimmer is attending. The Meet Package will often contain the website for the host meet too and lots of teams have the capability of posting LIVE RESULTS on their websites which is a great way to know what’s happening with your swimmer during the competition.

The MY MEETS tab is **new** and VERY USEFUL if you want to find the meets you are interested in a hurry. The first time you locate a meet you have some interest in, click on the star at the end of the meet info line. Each of these meets will then show up in your My Meets list making it quick and easy for you to find information next time you visit the site.

The better informed you are about the meets your swimmer is attending, the more comfortable you will be sending them. Please take advantage of the information available to you on the Swim Canada website.
