Masters Time Trial – January 30

POST EVENT COACHES NOTE:

KSS Masters Time Trial & Social, Saturday January 30/10 ~ Fantastic!!!!! We had nineteen Masters swimmers come out to this event, with many “competing” for the very first time. Our evening in the pool featured some really excellent races, with some really pretty fast times recorded by all swimmers. Complete results will be posted on the KSS website shortly. A big “Thank You” to Jenny Stefannson who hosted a pot luck dinner at the conclusion of the Time Trial.

ORIGINAL INFO:

A Special Masters “Time Trial” has been scheduled for Saturday January 30, 2010 ~ 4:30 – 6:00 PM. All KSS Masters Swimmers are ENCOURAGED to attend this “Time Trial”. We will offer an opportunity to swim times in all four strokes at the 25 and 50 meter distances. Also possibly the 100 IM. Other ???????

Timers will be Masters Swimmers (while waiting for their turn to swim and/or while resting after swimming an event).

Why are we doing this????? Getting a “Time” in any event is a good way to judge your improvement in skill (are you swimming more efficiently and faster?????) and your level of physical fitness (can you maintain your speed during a race and how quickly do you recover after a hard effort?????) Have you improved your “time” over previous P.B.’s or you can set a starting point “time” for future reference.

This “Time Trial” should be both FUN and EDUCATIONAL. Never competed or swum in a Time Trial before?????? We will walk / coax you through the events.

AFTER the Time Trial we NEED a Masters Social. We need swimmers who only swim in the AM to get to know swimmers who only swim during the PM sessions (and vice versa). Our Social will be ….

A Pot Luck Supper IF we can find a volunteer Host / Hostess (we won’t trash your house, …. , honestly)
We will all descend on a local eatery / watering hole for some well earned R & R
