Swim Canada Meet Entry Pre-requisites

New for 2008 – 2009 ~ SNC [Swimming Canada] Swim Meet Entry Pre-requisites: New SNC swim meet entry requirements for all Invitational and Championship level Swim Meets have been instituted effective September 01/08. These new rules apply to all girls 14 & Under and all boys 15 & Under. Swimmers currently older then 14 (girls) and 15 (boys) are exempt from the rule changes.
New SNC Swim Meet Entry Rules ~ Swimmers must equal or have swum faster then the “SWIM MEET” pre-requisites in either the 200 or 400 IM plus one of the 400, 800 and/or 1500 Freestyle BEFORE they are ELIGIBLE to swim in a Swim Meet. Host Teams can set their own “pre-requisite” times for local Invitationals. Larger “Regional” and Provincial level meets will use the following times:

Why Has SNC Instituted These Pre-Requisite Times????   The rationale behind these times is as follows: To ensure the long term development of swimmers, they need to develop all FOUR strokes [therefore the emphasis on the 200 and/or 400 IM] and an AEROBIC BASE [long slower swimming and competing at longer Freestyle Events during competition].

What Does This Means To Our Swimmers????    KSS competitive swimmers NEED to start competing in the longer events whenever possible. We will try to provide our swimmers with as many opportunities as possible to achieve the pre-requisite times during the course of the Swim Season.
